This course is built in 8 lessons, where we would cover the fundamentals of Big Band and Large Ensemble arranging, such as instrumentation, modern harmony, stylistic counterpoint, efficient melodic techniques, basic and advanced voicings, shout chorus, Big Band orchestration styles, Sax soli techniques, and more.
The course includes materials, such as theory guides, audio files and examples from the book Arranging for Large Ensemble¨ from Berklee College Of Music, scores, and we will work together on analysis and personalized exercises every lesson, which I will send you as PDF files at the end of each lesson so that you can have unlimited access to the materials.
Additionally, we will work on a small Big Band arrangement together, which you would need to have ready at the end of the 8 lessons. Finally, you will also work on writing a small sax soli for 5 saxophones, which I will record professionally at the end of the course for your records.
