Composition and arranging sit at the heart of Lorenzo’s music, from the original work of The Collective to his Latin GRAMMY-winning arrangement of “La Flor de la Canela.”
His writing brings together jazz vocabulary, rhythmic exploration and the colours of acoustic instruments.

Lorenzo’s arranging practice continues on the bandstand. With the Afro-Peruvian Jazz Orchestra, he shapes large-ensemble music through rhythmic clarity, contrasting textures and the interaction of individual voices.
The orchestra’s Washington, DC performance offers a glimpse of that work in motion: a score becoming a shared musical experience.
