THE ENSEMBLES
Two distinct projects. Different scales of expression.

01 / LORENZO FERRERO & THE COLLECTIVE
The Collective is the living expression of Lorenzo’s journey as a performer and composer. Through original compositions and personal arrangements, the ensemble tells his story: the music he loves, the people and experiences that have shaped him, and the discoveries that keep his artistic voice moving forward.
Formed in 2022, the group adapts from intimate settings to an expanded sextet, with a quartet at its practical core. Its flexible format gives each piece room to find its own character, with improvisation and musical conversation bringing new perspectives to Lorenzo’s writing.
Selected performances include Libretto Jazz Club, The Grape in Ventura, the JEN Conference and the NAMM Show.

02 / AFRO-PERUVIAN JAZZ ORCHESTRA
Co-founded and directed by Lorenzo Ferrero and Aníbal Seminario, APJO brings Afro-Peruvian traditions into conversation with the expressive scale of a jazz orchestra.
Lorenzo’s arrangement of “La Flor de la Canela” earned the 2020 Latin GRAMMY for Best Arrangement. APJO’s debut, Tradiciones, received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Latin Jazz Album in 2021.
The orchestra’s performances include Ebell Theater, Alex Theatre, the JEN Conference and Washington, DC.
